There is a reason for Xperia owners to be happy. Sony has confirmed that the most Xperia devices will receive Android 4.1 Jellybean update.
The upgrade is for smartphones that were released in 2012, with the first to receive the update Xperia T, Xperia TX and Xperia V.
The first phase will begin in February 2013, with the second set for March of the same year and on the models Xperia P, Xperia Go and Xperia J.
Finally in April will get the series Xperia S, Xperia SL, Xperia Ion and Xperia Acro S.
Sony has also made known, for which specific models will not be available for upgrade, these includes the Xperia U, Xperia Sola, Xperia Micro and Xperia Tipo.
Already there have been some reactions from owners of these devices, but the company’s representatives were quick to clarify that this took the decision in the best possible user experience.
These devices do not have the hardware to support the Android Jelly Bean release, so it is better to stay in Ice Cream Sandwich.
*All Android 4.1 Jelly bean updates will be free of charge.
